I am a fourth-year graduate student in behavioral neuroscience. Broadly, I am interested in understanding thedynamics of the human brain. My research focuses on neural oscillations or “brainwaves” as a mechanism of communication and organization in the brain, and my current work in the lab examines how brain rhythms are influenced by body rhythms (like heart rate and breathing). Clinically, I’m interested in whether disrupted brain rhythms in disorders such as schizophrenia relate to physiological dysregulation, and whether we can restore these rhythms through techniques such as breathing exercises or biofeedback.
